Angel C McDonald

Angel C McDonald began her life on October 13, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born into the union of Carl T. and Pearlie Mae McDonald, whom both precede her in death. Angel was the youngest child and the only girl to their union. She was also preceded in death by her older brother, Carl Jr. McDonald. Angel was educated in the Chicago Public Schools. She attended John W. Cook Elementary, Southwest Christian and went on to continue her education at Calumet High School. From a very early age Angel learned about Christ. Anyone who knows the McDonald family, knew that it was paramount that Pearlie Mae introduce, cultivate and cement a relationship with Christ in her family. It was through these teachings that kept Angel grounded throughout her life. As a teenager, like most kids. Angel was rambunctious, outgoing and a free spirit. She lived marching to the beat of her own drum! On May 8, 1987, Angel was Blessed with a beautiful son Joshiwa K. Allen or her "lil man", as she would affectionately say from time to time. After a string of entry level positions, Angel decided that she could no longer be an employee. She needed to be the employer! In 2006, Angel opened, owned and operated City West Transportation. In February of this same year, Angel found a special companion in Jelani Bennett and to their union on February 25, 2011, came a beautiful baby girl Brooklyn Pearl Bennett. Not to be fooled by her beautiful smile, sweet voice and infectious laugh, Angel was strong willed, fiercely independent, tough and definitely a fighter! Her fun spirit, gregarious personality and great sense of style will be forever missed. With a personality as big as Angel's, its hard to reduce who she was to just a few words, just a few paragraphs or even just a few pages. She thanked God for her life! We thank God for his gift !!! After a long illness, Angel was called from labor to reward on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Angel leaves to cherish: one son, Joshiwa K. Allen, one daughter, Brooklyn P. Bennett, one sister, Yvonne McDonald of Kansas City, Missouri, six brothers, Derrick (Donna) McDonald of Lynwood, Illinois, Gil (Bridget) McDonald of Atlanta, Georgia, David (Vanieta) McDonald of Kansas City, Missouri Craig (Tonya) McDonald of Chicago, Illinois, Dell McDonald of Los Angeles, California and A special companion Jelani Bennett of Chicago, Illinois and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends...
