Nannie Jackson

Nannie Jackson was born the second of three children on December 14, 1918 to the union of Charlie and Petrolia Jackson. Having recognized the love and comnfort of God at an early age, she was baptized at St. Elizabeth Church on May 4th 1930 and later joined St. Ansle's Church both on Chicago's Southside. Nannie graduated from Englewood High School and lated attended the Art Institute of Chicahgo where she earned an Associated Degree. Her eagerness to learn, explore and help others lead her through many career endeavors until she found her true calling as a Nursing Assistant in 1958. She cared for others at St. Anne'sHospital on Chicago's Westside until her retirement in 1983. During her tenure she earned her credentials as an LPN but chose to finish her medical career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was the proud and loving mother of four sons: Lee, Alfred, Chris and Gregory. Chris and Alfred preceeded her in going home. The Lord called early on July 22, 2012 to invite her to his home for an extended stay. She leaves to cherish her love and memory two sons: Lee and Gregory; Three daughters-in-law, Mary, Bernice and Linda; Twelve grandchildfen and a host of great-grandchildren and friends.
