Keenan Lynell Ramsey blessed this world with 35 vibrant years. Born on October 5, 1988, to Marla Mathis and Stefen “Monty” Ramsey, Sr., Keenan was a beacon of light, a source of endless joy, and a pillar of strength for his family and friends. Keenan grew up surrounded by the love of his siblings: Craig, Stefen, Jr. Stacy, Kory, Kyle, Simone, Trey, Saniyah. Each of them can testify to the unique and unforgettable impact he had on their lives. He attended Wendell Smith Elementary School, Triumphant Charter School, Corliss High School, and Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. Keenan later earned his GED, showing us all his resilience and determination. Keenan’s life was a tapestry of passions. He loved watching basketball and boxing, engaging in card games with that competitive spirit that always brought a smile to our faces. Oh, how he would fill a room with his infectious laughter! And let us not forget those shower performances of R. Kelly’s “Spirit” – a testament to his joyful and carefree nature. Keenan was also a man who loved to test his luck at the casino. It often took a village to pull him away from those bright lights and spinning wheels, but it was all part of the adventurous spirit that we adored in him. As a father, Keenan’s heart belonged to his children: Keenan Jr. (KJ), De’ Kari, Jermany, and Kash. He was their protector, their guide. His love for them was deep and unwavering, always ensuring their safety and happiness. Keenan’s personality was a delightful mix of silliness, goofiness, humor, and stubbornness. His bipolar nature made every day an adventure, filled with unexpected joy and laughter. He was the life of every gathering, the heart of every joke, and the warmth in every smile. Though Keenan has left this earthly realm, his spirit remains with us. His legacy of love, laughter, and protection will forever shine brightly in our hearts. His life reminds us of the importance of living fully, loving deeply, and embracing each moment with joy. Rest in peace, dear Keenan. Your legacy of love and laughter will live on in all of us. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Keenan is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bob Mathis; his paternal grandmother, Gloria (Punkin) Ramsey; and his paternal grandfather, Stefen Hart Keenan leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Marla (Gigi) Mathis; his father, Stefen “Monty” Ramsey, Sr.; his children: Keenan Jr. (KJ), De’ Kari, Jermany, and Kash; his siblings: Craig, Stefen, Jr., Stacy, Kory, Kyle (Roshawnda), Simone, Trey, Saniyah; his grandmother, Brenda MathisGarth; his uncles: Robert (Bobby) Mathis, Myron Mathis, Schuyler (Shameka) Mathis, Kimani Brooks, Verrick Ramsey; one aunt, Robin Mathis and a “Bonus” sister Kiyah Simmons, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
