Roseanne Maria Townsend

Roseanne Maria Townsend was born on November 19, 1952 in Chicago, IL. to the late Armando Sr. and Jennie Aguilar, who both preceded her in death. She was educated in Chicago and received many degrees, certificates, and educational honors. In 1979, Roseanne married the love of her life, Kirby “Tyrone” Townsend. They enjoyed 44 beautiful years together. To that union two children were born: Christopher, and Mario. They blended their family, which included three more beautiful children Amelia, Nicole, and Curtis. Their legacy continued when they welcomed twenty-two phenomenal grandchildren, and five amazing great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Roseanne worked as an Accounts Payable Specialist at Marshall Fields for many years. She was also an active member of SEIU Local 1107. She retired in 2022. In 1993, Roseanne joined the Faith Community of St. Sabina under the leadership of Rev. Michael Pfleger and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was an integral part of St. Sabina serving as a core member of the Sisterhood Ministry under the direction of the late Elma Dunbar. Roseanne firmly believed in the deliverance of women from emotional pain, and trauma through the power of Jesus Christ. She was a passionate intercessor and absolutely loved to pray and intercede for complete deliverance. Roseanne was a member of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry and gladly accepted every opportunity to pray until breakthrough was evident. Roseanne later joined New Life Covenant Church Southeast under the leadership of Pastor John F. Hannah, where she served with the Intercessory Prayer Ministry as well. In the summer of 2022, Roseanne and Tyrone joined New Life Encounter Church under the leadership of Pastors Eugene & Dr. Darlene Nichols. She was so excited to serve with Encounter in the capacity of Lead Intercessor for the Pastors, Intake lead, as well as a prayer warrior. She also served as an intercessor for Mother Nichols’ weekday teleconference line. On Friday, April 28, 2023, after completing her life’s work, God called Roseanne home to be with Him. She transitioned peacefully surrounded by her family. Roseanne was preceded in death by her parents, Armando Sr, and Jennie Aguliar. brother Arturo, mother-in-love Mary Townsend, sisterin-love Denise, and her grandson Shakur Townsend. Roseanne leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 44 years Tyrone, five children: Amelia (Don), Nicole, Curtis (Monica), Christopher (Latoya) and Mario; twenty-two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her brothers Armando (Susan), and Alex; and her brother-in-love Larry (Gale). She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
